Keyboard shortcuts
The keys of Excel and Google Sheets in every table, plus shortcuts for ZicAgent, menus and panels. Settings, Hot keys lists them for your computer.
Where to find them
Open Settings, then Hot keys (under Account settings). The page shows every shortcut with the keys for your computer: Ctrl on Windows and Linux, Cmd on a Mac. Below, Mod means Ctrl, or Cmd on a Mac.
Moving around the table
- Arrow keys: move one cell. Tab and Shift + Tab: the next cell to the right or left.
- Enter while typing: save and move down (Shift + Enter moves up).
- Mod + arrow: jump to the edge of the data. Home and End: the first or last cell of the row.
- Mod + Home: the beginning of the table. Mod + End: the last cell holding data. Page Down and Page Up: ten rows at a time.
Typing in cells
- F2, Enter or a double-click: edit the selected cell. Start typing to replace what it holds.
- Enter: confirm. Esc: cancel. Delete or Backspace: clear the cell, or every selected cell.
- Mod + ;: today's date. Mod + Shift + ;: the time now.
- Mod + B, Mod + I, Mod + U: bold, italic, underline. Mod + K: insert a link.
Selecting
- Shift + arrow: extend the selection. Mod + Shift + arrow: extend it to the edge of the data.
- Shift + Space: select the row. Ctrl + Space: select the column (Ctrl on a Mac too). Mod + A: select every cell on the page.
- Shift + click: select a range. Mod + click (or Alt + click): add or remove one. Esc: let go of the selection.
Copy, paste, fill and undo
- Mod + C, Mod + X, Mod + V: copy, cut and paste cells, ranges or whole ticked rows. A range from a spreadsheet fills right and down.
- Mod + D: fill down. Mod + R: fill right. Drag the small square at the corner of the selection to repeat values.
- Mod + Z: undo edits, pastes, fills, replaces, deleted rows and removed columns, up to 20 steps. Ctrl + Y (Cmd + Shift + Z on a Mac): redo.
Rows, columns and totals
- Mod + Shift + +: insert a row below, or a column to the right after selecting a column.
- Mod + -: delete the ticked rows or the selected column (always asked first; rows go to Trash).
- Shift + Delete: delete the ticked rows (asked first, and Mod + Z brings them back).
- Alt + = (Cmd + Shift + T on a Mac): AutoSum, with the average and count.
The table and the page
- Mod + S: confirm everything is saved (changes save as you make them). Mod + F: the table's search.
- Ctrl + H (Cmd + Shift + H on a Mac): find and replace across the whole table, undone in one step.
- Mod + O: open another table. Alt + Shift + N: new table. Mod + P: print the table alone.
